Savour Chinese Muslim Cuisine at Mohd Chan Cha Lou

Cha lou, or traditional Chinese tea house, evokes fond memories of sipping tea while indulging in dainty plates of dim sum. Old and young enjoy a meal together, as waiters in immaculate white uniforms push small metal carts filled with piping hot dim sum around diners’ tables.

Mohd Chan Cha Lou

But Mohd Chan Cha lou is a ‘tea house’ with a difference. Not only can you enjoy authentic dim sum here, it also serves a wide variety of Chinese cuisine, ranging from traditional Cantonese dishes to Malaysian Chinese dishes. Signature dishes such as Claypot Assam Nyonya Fish and Cantonese Style Noodle look simple enough, but take the deft touches of a master chef to execute. These dishes tantalize the taste buds so much that you just have to ask for more!

Halal Muslim Chinese Style

And the best part is you can enjoy Cha Lou’s offerings with friends of all races and religions as it is a Halal restaurant. Dining at Cha Lou will be a truly 1Malaysia experience. What better way to introduce the intricacies of Chinese cuisine to all than a session of jolly get-together at a restaurant renown for the quality of its food, cooked with passion using halal ingredients? Our Muslim brothers and sisters will be able to enjoy traditional and modern Chinese dishes with gusto and peace of mind, knowing that Cha Lou understands the requirement of their religion perfectly.

Restaurant Interior

Being the first Chinese Muslim restaurant under the prestigious Mohd Chan brand to be located in a mall, Cha lou offers a unique ambience. The interior is an interesting blend of traditional Chinese and contemporary elements in soothing colours. Dark wood panelling is used in both the exterior and interior of the restaurant, creating a warm and nostalgic feel of old China. Apart from a gastronomic feast, diners are also treated to a visual feast. A 3D mural of an olden day Chinese waiter pouring tea at the entrance of the restaurant greets diners. The lifelike image certainly brings a smile to your face before you even step in. Inside the spacious restaurant, which offers indoor and outdoor dining areas that can sit 132 diners at a time, the central feature is a set of specially created 3D murals.

Diners sitting at strategic tables will look as if they are sharing a meal with each of the three historical personalities.
